Holy Cross Lutheran School
Where Jesus is our greatest teacher and nature is our greatest classroom.
The Beginning
Holy Cross Lutheran School began as "Holy Cross Weekday Church School" in the early 1980s. Parents could drop their children off for a day of play and socializing. Some parents stayed in the building and held bible study, book club, or just socialized with each other. Other parents volunteered in the classrooms with the teachers.
In Fall of 2000, after over a year of planning, requesting inspections and permits, recruiting families and staff, and raising funds, Holy Cross Preschool opened with enrollment at capacity. The preschool became licensed by the state of Wisconsin's Department of Children and Families.
In 2002 the church began a large building project which added an education wing, gymnasium, second floor classrooms, and youth room. The preschool was able to begin the 2003-2004 school year in the new classrooms.
Today
We recently changed our name to Holy Cross Lutheran School. We feel that this change embodies our desire to meet the ever changing needs of the families in our community. We want to be a place where all families feel that they have a place and belong.
This year we are expanding our half day preschool to an optional full day preschool with before and after school care. We know that families need options and flexibility and we aim to meet those needs in a caring environment.
